After graduating with a Bachelors in Motion Picture from AFDA in 2016, Karien went on to work at Foghound Studios, where she completed two seasons of the KykNet television show, Kampkos. She also finished Collectors Candy that was aired by SABC. She completed multiple short-form content such as corporate videos, commercials and social media campaigns. 

She furthered her social media skills by working at Rebelintown, a subdivision of Group Africa Marketing, and worked for clients such as MTN and Standard Bank. Thereafter, two noteworthy projects drew her attention and Destination Vacation and On Safari was completed by 2020. 

Overall over 36 hours worth of content has been produced and aired on various channels with international distribution. (Click here for more)

Karien is proficient in the Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop), Final Cut Pro X and DaVinci Resolve. It is one of the remarkable qualities that she'll adapt to the software that is needed. 

Karien has worked on a SAFTA Winning Short Film, the Suit, directed by Jarred Coetzee and a SAFTA nominated Student Film, Incurable, directed by Darren Parker in 2016. These films had found success across the globe and won multiple titles at international festivals.  Throughout her student years and career, she has worked on multiple award-winning productions under The Veritas Project brand.
